Development and application of servo motor

The servo motor is an engine that can control the rotation of mechanical components in a servo system. It can control speed and position accuracy very accurately, and will not generate excessive heat and noise even when running at high speed.


The rotor speed of a servo motor is controlled by the input signal and can respond quickly. In the automatic control system, it is used as an actuator and has the characteristics of small electromechanical time constant and high linearity. It can convert the received electrical signal into angular displacement or angular velocity output on the motor shaft.  When the signal voltage is zero, there is no self-rotation phenomenon, and the speed decreases at a uniform speed as the torque increases.


However, due to high technical requirements and high costs, servo motors were mainly used in machine tools and defense and military industries in the past, and were rarely used in ordinary civilian production machinery. With the advancement of science and technology, the training of professional talents and the improvement of manufacturing level, more and more ordinary machinery are now beginning to use servo motors to improve the production efficiency and product quality of the machine. For example, after using servo motors instead of traditional variable frequency motors on the center surface winding and slitting machine, the linear speed synchronization of the whole machine is more accurate, the winding torque is more stable, and the material tension control is easier.
