Water Blocking Tape Slitting Machine

Water blocking tape is a composite material consists of polyester non-woven layers and water absorbent polymer layer, which is mainly used as a cable material. 

At the beginning, manufacturers mostly use single winding shaft slitter to slit water blocking tape. The advantage is that it's easy to wind the slit coils to big diameter and also slitting speed is high. How ever, more and more wb tape factories are starting to use double winding shaft slitter to slit water blocking tape. The reason is double winding shafts slitter can reduce the scraps quantity occured in slitting process.

When winding the slit tapes on one shaft, there is no interval gaps between each coils. Due to the accumlated overlaps between circles, the slit rolls always stick together after slitting finishes. So, the slitting operator needs to seperate each rolls manually with a knife. Unavoidably some slit rolls get to be collasped in this step and finally became a wastage, especially for smaller width tapes. If using double winding shafts slitter, this problem will not happen, because each pair of neighboring slit strips are wound in different winding shafts, so there are gaps between each final slit rolls and the slitter operator never need to devide the slitting rolls with tools.
